Thankfully No Probing
If aliens landed today they would be able to tell that I was raised on a farm and that I am Canadian. This is because a) I have a magazine rack in my bathroom and b) in that rack are copies of Macleans magazine and a Margaret Atwood novel.

Benefit
Maybe one of the big benefits to working at home is that for the next weeks instead of music in the background, I will have the Olympics. It would be better if we had TSN, but I can deal.

Jealous?
This is me checking this blog on an iPhone.

This is me about to make a call on an iPhone that was 'dial-in'. I ended up calling home and also calling Felix - I knew he would drool.

Pretty much they are so nice and pretty much the 4GB was 499USD. Mmmmm.

JIC
Just in case I can't find some wireless signal to steal at the new place....
I am almost packed - its a corner of a room there, a few things to throw in a box here, you know. You'll be happy to know that I didn't try and take my bed apart by myself. I will wait for help. :)
Speaking of help - some of today's hopeful heroes include....Gayle Doornbos, Sarah Moerman, Brittany Goheen, Felix Lam and Jill Hermansen (all current or former bloggers). Hopefully I will have a picture of them in all their moving glory.
So, in case you don't hear from me until I'm in NYC, I love you and, um, keep up the good work...butt pat.

Help! I Need Some Bodies! (And Some Cars, Oh And A Truck...)
Dear people who love me,
I love you too.
Guess what? I have an idea for how you can put your love into action! I am moving on August 1. That is one week from now! Hooray! Oh wait, moving sucks. But no, moving doesn't suck (so much) when you have a bunch of your friends to help you and then you fill your faces with pizza afterwards. (Are ya with me?)
Mostly what I need is people and vehicles. I'd like to do this is one shuh-bang - ie take everything over from one apartment to the other at once. So we all come to my place on Wednesday after work, we fill cars (and one truck, i need one truck, or a van...anyone?) with most of my earthly belongings and then we truck them up to my new place (10min drive) and drop them there. I will do all the work after that. But me, my back and my Honda Civic can't handle the rest.
So what says you? Honestly, with enough people and vehicles it shouldn't take a crazy long time. The biggest piece of furniture I have is a desk (my bed comes fully apart, there's a dresser and two practically cardboard ikea bookshelves). Let me know if you're in and then I'll coordinate things via email - like what time people are done work/when we can get this party started.
Thank you. I promise I love you for more than your muscles (as long as you love me for more than my neediness and pizza),
Laura

An Open Letter To Pointy Bugs and Bugs With Teeth
Dear yous guys,
My ass is not your playground. Or your buffet. Please stop biting me there. It's getting embarrassing and painful.
Don't make me break out the deet,
Lstew (the girl with the smorgasbord trunk)

Things That Are Fun...
Why yes this is me in my London parents' Audi TT Roadster.
Mmmm, such a nice ride. Mmmm, drool, but not on the car or in the car, or really, near the car.

Confession
When I play baseball I like to get dirty. I don't feel satisfied if I come home clean. Sometimes, I try to break up a double play even when I know that the players involved aren't capable of completing one without the visible help of the Holy Spirit, just to get dirty. Laura Kenny supports and encourages my dirty habit.

You Might Be A Farmer's Daughter If...
I went to bed last night in my pajamas that consisted of cow spotted flannel boxer shorts and a sweatshirt. In the middle of the night I woke up really cold - especially my feet. So in a sleepy stupor I reached to my dresser and pulled out the thickest pair of socks I could feel. This morning when I got up I had to laugh - the socks are also cow spotted with pink toes and bottoms, complete with little milk bottle shaped plastic for grip.
Deranged cow?

Snow
I'm going to be sorely disappointed if we get this pile of snow and the only thing it does make me dig, shovel and leave early for everything. Jacob Ellens, if you read my blog - multiple snow days in a semester is not a bad thing, in fact, it will make you a living legend.
